During June 13th to 17th, International Academy of the Belt and Road (hereinafter, the Academy) organized over 40 professors from 30 countries, and nearly 80 Hong Kong Local students to visit several central ministries and universities, including Supreme People’s Procuratorate of the People’s Republic of China (SPP), Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Basic Law Committee of the National People’s Congress, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China (SPC), Tsinghua University and China Law Society.
Executive director of Institute of National Governance, Tsinghua University, Professor LI Shan believed that as a great project of economic cooperation, the Belt and Road need the joint efforts among China, countries and people along the Belt and Road. Tsinghua University will strengthen cooperation with the Academy. Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court HE Rong, said the Supreme People’s Court is setting up the ‘the Belt and Road judicial research center’, actively build a think-tank platform which studying in the theory and practice of law, and expect create a transparent, fair and just international law environment, jointly with the Academy. Chairman of China Law Society Mr. WANG Yuequan, pointed out that Hong Kong is an important window for eastern and western cultural exchanges, and should strengthen Chinese and foreign think-tank exchanges and cooperation in the legal level, playing a role of unique hub.
In addition to communicate with a number of important government officials,
the Academy signed the memorandum of cooperation and understanding with different agencies, the Supreme People’s Court, Tsinghua University National Governance Research Institute, China Law Society Academic Exchange Center, to strengthen two sides communication in the future, and create a transparent and fair international law environment.
